Rose Bowl Flea Market

The Rose Bowl Flea Market is beloved by vintage shoppers worldwide and on June 10th, I believe the whole world was there!  It opens only twelve times a year on the second Sunday of every month, so this month I braved the mob and drove down to Pasadena with a shopping buddy and Mimi in tow.  There are over 2,000 vendors surrounding the Rose Bowl stadium.  It is impossible to see everything offered in one day so we heeded Mimi's advice:  "Stay focused.  Vintage accessories only!"

There were enough hats, shoes, bangles and handbags to keep us busy for a solid three hours.  I got distracted a few times.  The moose head below really caught my interest.

"So what's your best price?" I asked the vendor, but my shopping buddy took me by the arm and reminded me, "No, no.  Keep focused," and dragged me away.   Just as well.  Mimi would have been very upset to have to share the backseat with the hairy fellow.

Mimi was very proud of us.  My friend bought a straw tote and a sunhat.  I bought two hats, a bumble bee pin, and the cutest ostrich bag I've ever seen.  My real find for the day, however, was the three piece set of vintage Hartmann luggage from the 1950's.   When I got home, my travel buddy dubbed it, "Take me to the Zoo bags" because of the big green spots.  Fine by me.  Take me anywhere and I'm a happy camper.
