DAISY DUKES, BIKINIS ON TOP

"Sun-kissed skin so hot will melt your popsicle, ooooh oh ooooh." It's about that time of year, SUMMER! I'm guessing that you need some new swimsuits, yet you don't know where to look. So, this one is for you, here ya go!
I love swimsuits but I don't love wearing them, if that makes any sort of logical sense. I oogled over these pieces and thought that I would share with my fellow wanderlusters in the same boat.

Here are this summer's picks:
VS Leopard Cutout One Piece
VS Paisley Push-up Triangle Top
Polka Dot Fringe Monokini
High-waisted Polka Dot Set
Neon One-shoulder Monokini
Striped Corset and High-waisted Set
Halter and High-waisted Set

We are off to Switzerland for the weekend, meaning Swiss chocolate and cheese, overpriced water bottles, beautiful lakes and nature, out of this world mountains and fresh air (I would hope...)

P.S. This is one of the funniest articles I have ever come across...like, are these people serious?

FAMILY VACATION + CHEAP? NO PROBLEM.

Summer is just around the corner and many people, families, college students alike all want to travel during the warmer months...there's just one problem: it needs to be cheap because it's all about budgeting now-a-days. Well, if you are in America this summer and traveling with your family, this post is for you!

1. Carlsbad, California

2. Deep Creek, Delaware (I added this one myself because it's a great camping place!)

3. Chicago, Illinois

4. Orcas Island, Washington

5. Ozark Mountains, Arkansas

6. Niagara Falls, New York/Canada

7. Ocean City, Maryland

8. Jersey Shore, New Jersey

9. Crater Lake, Oregon

10. Lake Clark, Alaska

11. Lake Michigan, Michigan/Wisconsin/Indiana/Illinois

12. Denali Park, Alaska

Tomorrow, the Iceland post will be up in the wee hours of the morning so you can read all about the country with a name that does not fit the country's physical description (Iceland is actually GREEN and not of ICE, while Greenland is ICE and not of GREEN).

THE BEST AIRLINES IN THE WORLD

Now, I don't know about you, but for me, choosing which airline to fly with is a major decision in my travel plans. I am terrified of turbulence or flying with any airline that does not have the best reputation in terms of safety. I always have this fear that the airplane will just spontaneously break in the sky, run out of fuel or something unrealistic will happen when flying. Even the teeniest, tiniest bit of turbulence freaks me out to the point I have to put my head down and pretend it's all a dream...dramatic, I know. I also like comfortable seats, reasonable legroom, my own TV and good (or edible) food during my flight. When I flew with Air France over winter break from Prague--> Paris--> Washington D.C. I was really pleased with the service, comfort factor and safety of the flight. This summer, I am flying Swiss Airline from Barcelona to New York City then back to Zurich and catching a connecting flight to Prague (in August).

With all of that being said, when I came across this article the other day, I was happy to read that I have flown with some of these airlines in the past and will know in the future which airlines to look for first.

On the list:

  • JetBlue Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines
  • WestJet
  • LAN
  • Aer Lingus
  • EasyJet (taking my first flight with them from Amsterdam to Barcelona this June)
  • RyanAir
  • FastJet
  • Hawaiian Airlines
  • JetStar
Of these, I have flown JetBlue and Southwest Airlines. Again, I am getting ready to fly EasyJet so I will give you guys a review/opinion on that when the time comes. When I move to South America, I will try to fly with LAN airlines and when I go elsewhere in the world I will try to fly some of these to test out just how good they are.

Have a lovely Saturday- enjoy, relax, breathe easy and make some travel plans.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Lately I have been obsessing over interior design and I find myself glued to the screen whenever browsing through the Pinterest 'Home Design' section.
So, this is a fun, non-travel related post! Enjoy and have a lovely morning browsing (at school when you are bored or at work when you are drinking your first cup of coffee).

I love doing these types of posts, so I think I will make this a weekly thing- plus it's a nice break from all the travel posts. Also, I want to do a little 'What I am loving this week' at the end of a post sometime in the week. Starting this week sometime I will begin to do that.

Have a fabulous Tuesday and travel on wanderlusters!

P.S. It's the last day of April (on my side of the world)--where does time go!? I have two weekends of work left, three weeks of classes + exams left, I am moving into the new flat in the next few weeks, in 21 days my best friend comes to Prague and then we are off for our mini Euro-trip!!

BOATS N BREWS

I have been enjoying the bliss of doing absolutely nothing but relaxing the past few days. There's that little angel on my shoulder urging me to: "GO WRITE THE ITALY POST, DO IT, DO IT!" But the devil on the other side is telling me to just relax, go with the flow, you can do it later.

Well, today I have a day off from work for the first time since starting in February so I get to spend my day at the gym then at the park with friends and then finally at my university's annual ball. Not sure how excited I am...I have been to enough homecomings and proms in my day but hey, why not see what this dance has to offer. The venue is amazingly beautiful and in Vinohrady, a beautiful neighborhood here in Prague (we actually looked at flats there). Okay, so maybe I am excited...I'll share pictures with all you wanderlusters in tomorrow's post.

If we backtrack to Wednesday evening, I got out of my last class for the week and one of the last of the semester, so I ran home (literally, because the trams were broken), grabbed my roommate and we headed to the river for a paddle-boat ride. When we finally got there, we had to walk a long ways because the trams were not working, we bought ourselves a nice Plzen beer and got to paddling. As we were on the river, the sun was setting behind the Prague Castle and it was just one of those "lucky to be alive" moments. Breathtaking actually. My roommate and I were laughing about how if we got sucked into the fast waters, it would be okay because at least we got to see a beautiful sunset in Prague on the river (god forbid that actually happened though, I would be a woman overboard!)

Of course, we took one too many pictures so here are some of my favorites:

As we walked, I was amazed that I felt like I was actually walking somewhere in New York and Paris. It was as if we discovered an entirely new Prague. We also found out that where we are moving to, there is a lovely jazz club on the water with delicious smelling food just around the corner from the flat. SCORE.

If these photos do not make you want to move to Prague or at least visit...you crazy! Then again, maybe it isn't for everyone. If you do ever come to Prague, wanderlusters, make sure to take a paddle-boat ride on the river; for one hour it is 250kc, which is about $12 USD aka worth every single penny.

Off to the gym and the rest of today's shenanigans!
