A Walk to Qualicum Falls

The sky cleared.  It was pouring rays of sunshine rather than droplets of ice cold water.  "It's time to get out of the city and into the woods," I said.  We headed north and searched for the closest park we could find:  Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park on Highway 4.  "That's it; that's the place where we're going, " I said, pointing to the spot on the map.  A trail leading to a waterfall.  We could continue on to Port Alberni for lunch.   How perfect was that?

Picture postcard perfect, that's what.  The falls were beautiful.  The roar of the rapids deafening.  The mist sprayed my face.  I was beginning to feel --well--intoxicated.  "What is going on?" I asked my buddy.

"It's the oxygen.  We're not used to so much," he said.
Trees to the right of me.  Trees to the left of me.  The air was crisp, clean and cool.  This is what Vancouver Island is all about.  Oxygen.   It's my new drug of choice.
