Chemainus, a charming water-front town, only 20 km north of Duncan, is another city that has embraced art. "Chemainus reinvented itself in the 80's." We heard this from two different people in the area. It is now called the "Mural City" and attracts art lovers like me to its streets. We spent another wet, soggy hour in the rain walking around to see the murals. There were several bronze sculptures, as well, so I'm hoping they'll be adding more. With or without the art, it is a quaint little town, and definitely worth a pit stop.
