The Ghosts of Rhyolite

Artists are drawn to the desert.  Is it the open space, which provides an illusion of freedom?  Is it the solitude?  Or are the pastel colors of the landscape a palette for inspiration?

The ghost town of Rhyolite, Nevada, is in the middle of nowhere.  The nearest town is Beatty, Nevada.  Population:  1,010.  Yet, it is here that Albert Szukalski, an artist from Antwerp, Belgium decided to create his hauntingly beautiful sculptures.  The ghosts comprising  The Last Supper loom over the valley, blessing the desert by their mere existence.
The Ghost Rider tells me to keep going.  "Never stop.  And never look back," he says.

Where there is art, people will follow.  It is a testimonial to its power.  I, for one, need art in my life.  It is as necessary to me as the air I breathe.  If the trail to find it leads me deep into the desert, even better.  In the desert the air surrounds me like a protective cocoon.  I have just answered my questions, haven't I?  The answer is:  All of the Above.
