Isabella Blow and the Hat

The cover of  "Isabella Blow,  A Life in Fashion" by Lauren Goldstein Crowe, is quite stunning.   The judicious placement of a few black feathers attached to a hat transforms her into a beautiful swan.  Much has been written about her friendship and devotion to Philip Treacy.  She adored his creations and could wear a ship on her head with equal parts aplomb and ease.  To even wear a simple cloche or fedora in my part of the world is to draw attention to myself.  "Love your hat," is a compliment I get whenever I wear one.
I vow to become more daring, though, as I age--to walk the streets like Isabella Blow in full peacock regalia.  "Bring it on," Mimi says.
