A Walk Along the Spree
We didn't mean to walk so far that day. Behind the Reichstag we headed toward the Tiergarten . . .
passed these silver-sprayed mimes . . .
passed a sculpture garden . . .
to a magnificent Henry Moore. And then we saw the river!
The River Spree flows through the center of Berlin. Unbelieveably, our guidebook didn't mention it once, and even more unreal, we were the only people strolling along this incredibly beautiful walkway. Weird!
Most tourists take the boat! But we kept walking and walking and walking . . .
ending up at Museum Island. Walking in a city with no destination in mind, but discovering magic around every corner is my idea of a perfect day. But I have to tell you, a cold beer never tasted so good!
