Under the Caribbean

As I descend into the blue abyss, schools of angel fish surround me.  They are curious and playful and seem to want to know,  Who are you?  Where do you come from?  The land above is an unknown and theirs a foreign land no matter how many times I enter it.  When I free dive, my lungs limit my stay.  Even when I scuba dive, my tank of air runs out way too soon.   In the warm Caribbean Sea, I wish I could stay down forever.

The last time I dove in the Caribbean, our two worlds entwined around a sunken ship.  Human remains long dissolved into the sea; the ship now a habitat for the creatures living below.  I realized our worlds are not so separate after all.  We are symbiotic and  I must never forget.
